My son’s friend came over for a play date after school one day. We wanted to make him feel welcome and at ease. We asked him what he liked doing at home – if he preferred to play with toys, or in the garden, or with Lego, or engage in some other form of imaginary play.
He said, ‘I don’t really like those things. I prefer my iPad.’
I felt sad all evening.
